Bexar county pretrial service/costs/revenues

Updated: Apr 19

BEXAR COUNTY is now spending $11.3 million on pretrial service, The budget reflects $1.8 million collected on pretrial service fees. The 2019 article states that Bexar official wanted to follow Harris county lead. Harris county pretrial service costs about $11.8 million annually until 2020 when it shot up to $18.4 million. I guess Bexar is following Harris.

From the 2019 article:

Advocate “Garcia would like Bexar County to follow Houston's lead on bail reform.”

"People should not be in jail simply because they can't afford to be out."
